LUME and Child Care Aware of Eastern® Missouri, a program at LUME Institute, want to thank all of the child care providers, teachers, staff, and directors. You work tirelessly to take care of our children, to provide a quality early childhood education and experience, and we appreciate all of your efforts!  May 11 is a celebration of all that you contribute to children and families in our communities. Thank you for all that you do!

Below are ideas to celebrate providers:

  • Hand write thank you notes

  • Bring in a basket of healthy snacks

  • Create an “Unsung Hero/Behind the Scenes” award

  • Design a “Stress Support Kit” (fill with gum, tea, a stress ball, funny book)

  • Plan a surprise breakfast or lunch

  • Hang up a “Thank You” banner in the front entrance

  • Write a letter of appreciation to the staff and share it in a public space

  • Add fun programs for staff – Host a potluck, make a board of staff baby photos

  • Give praise in a public forum, post on Facebook, in a newsletter, or on a blog

  • Have a conversation, saying thank you in person is the best kind of praise!
