Inclusion Services

We support the right of every infant and young child and his or her family to participate in a broad range of activities and settings. We hope that children with and without disabilities and their families have a sense of belonging and membership, have positive social relationships and friendships, and develop to reach their full potential.

If your child has difficult to manage allergies, challenging behavior, asthma, autism, or a range of other special needs, we can help. Click here for more information about disabilities and developmental delays.

Inclusion Services Available:

  • Child care program on-site observations and technical assistance or phone consultations
  • Assistance to the child care program and the family to develop a plan for ensuring the child's success in the classroom
  • Referrals to other supports/resources in your community
  • Educational materials
  • Education for families regarding the benefits of inclusion and community supports

The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) established in law that people with disabilities are entitled to the same rights and privileges as those who are not disabled. The ADA states that enrollment policies and procedures at child care programs should not intentionally - or unintentionally - exclude children with disabilities. Using criteria that screens out children with disabilities would be considered a violation of the law.
