Job Information: Under general supervision this position is responsible for complete supervision at a single site that contains Head Start/Early Head Start classrooms. This includes monitoring curriculum and providing educational resources for staff and parents. The position has technical and administrative supervision over the Center staff (including but not limited to secretary, teachers, assistant teachers, family services workers, nutrition aides and custodial staff).
This position is a part of the Head Start/Early Head Start Management Team and works in tandem with other program coordinators and specialists. The center coordinator area is an integral part of the larger system of services provided by Head Start/Early Head Start.
The above knowledge and abilities are typically acquired through a combination of education and experience. A bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development, is required, a master’s degree is preferred. Three years of experience planning for and teaching small children, and working with disadvantaged and low-income clients is desirable.
At least three years of experience in an administrative area with direct supervisory experience is preferred in addition to multi-site supervision. The salary for this position is $35,000.00 and is non-negotiable. Current and former Head Start parents will receive preference for employment vacancies for which they are qualified.
